Tamilnadu-bandh was a total success defying strict order of the

Apex Court

in this regard, when a Supreme Court bench held an extra-ordinary special hearing on Sunday on the matter. The bandh was successful with an indirect support of the state-government. Remarks of Union Shipping Minister and others in legislature criticising

Apex Court

directions are not proper, and can even lead to chaos in the governance-system. Union information & Broadcasting Minister should also have refrained from expressing rigidly for not imposing President’s Rule in the state, because the

Apex Court

had warned the state-government of giving direction to the centre for imposing President’s Rule in case of non-compliance of the Court’s order.











Otherwise also, initial announcement of bandh was improper because the Setusumandram matter was pending before the

Apex Court

. Was it not a pressure-tactics and show of strength to influence

Apex Court

final verdict?
